Oakton Crew Makes it to Semifinals at Nationals

Oakton High School Crew had the best results in its eight-year history at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championship Regatta in New Jersey this past weekend.

Oakton Crew, coached by Dane Underwood, raced four boats at Nationals and its Women’s First 4, Women’s Lightweight 4, and Men’s First Varsity 8 all made it to the semifinals. This is the first time more than one of Oakton’s boats has advanced to the semifinals at Nationals and follows closely on the heels of the Women’s Lightweight 4’s gold medal win at the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association State Championships on May 14.

This week, Oakton goes on to the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association Regatta in St. Catherines, Ontario Canada.
