Wiffle Ball World Series Raises $25K for 2YF

Team of Madison High grads wins its third Bedell Cup

The Wiffle Ball World Series crowned its first-ever three-time champion of the Bedell Cup and raised more than $20,000 for 2 Young Foundation at Waters Field on Saturday.

Henry Brandmark, Tim Davis and Nate Favero — all Madison High graduates and varsity baseball players — of "Fast Plastic" dethroned reigning champs "DMBs" to take the championship for the third time in Bedell Cup history. Thirty-four teams participated in the 17th annual tournament.

2YF, an organization dedicated to raising money to fight brain cancer, has run the event for eight years in honor of Brian Bedell, a Vienna resident and Oakton High graduate who died of the disease. Over the years, 2YF has raised nearly $300,000 to benefit families and patients affected by brain cancer.
