Fairfax Citizens Fire & Rescue Academy Applications Open
The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department is offering a citizens academy for the first time. Applications are being accepted through Feb. 18.
The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department is offering its first ever Citizens Fire & Rescue Academy.
Residents ages 18 and older can apply to learn about fire suppression, emergency medical services, training, special operations and more.
The academy begins March 28 and classes will run from 6 to 9 p.m. weekly Thursday evenings for nine weeks at various locations in Fairfax County.

Applications are open through Feb. 18, and the class size is limited to 25 people.
Tysons Corner Fire Station, Station 29, is located at 1560 Spring Hill Road, McLean, VA 22102.
