Drug Takeback Intiative Collects 248 Pounds Of Medication
Vienna Police join statewide initiative in conjunction with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency

Vienna Police collected 248 pounds of expired or unused medications from residents on Saturday as part of a Drug Take Back Initiative with the united States Drug Enforcement Agency and jurisdictions across the state.
The collection allows residents to anonymously and safely get rid of prescription medications, controlled or non- controlled substances and over the counter
drugs, police said. More than 9,450 pounds of medications were collected at jurisdictions across Virginia.
During the last takeback event at the Vienna station, in April 2011, 235 pounds of unused drugs were collected.
