Dunkin Donuts: Back In Business

Location on Maple Avenue reopens Tuesday, offers free small coffee to all customers

Nearly a year after an accidental fire slowed its renovation and caused thousands of dollars of damage to neighboring businesses, Dunkin' Donuts reopened on Maple Avenue on Tuesday, marking the event with balloons and a giant inflatable coffee cup that stretched beyond the top of the shopping center.

The store is offering a free small coffee to all customers today.

The coffee shop, at 310 Maple Ave E, was under renovation last year when in the early morning hours of Nov. 14.

The fire caused $710,000 in damage to the shop and several other businesses in the center, including The Greek Grill, Trosseau, and Diplomat Cleaners.

All of those businesses recovered, but the fire delayed renovations at Dunkin' Donuts, causing its reopening date to occur much later then expected.

On Tuesday, the balloons and decorations caused some drivers to slow on Maple Avenue to take a look at the storefront. Other customers pulled into the parking lot and stopped to take a picture.

The store will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
