Election Tuesday: Five Candidates Vie for 3 Seats on Town Council
Mayor is running unopposed; five candidates vying for three slots on Town Council. Residents can cast ballots Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

VIENNA, VA -- Town of Vienna voters will head to the polls this Tuesday, May 3. Five candidates are vying for three spots on the Vienna Town Council.
Mayor Laurie A. DiRocco is on the ballot, running unopposed.
Since the Vienna Community Center is closed for reconstruction, residents will cast their ballots at Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street NE, Tuesday from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Three seats are up for grabs on the Town Council -- members are voted in for two years and serve staggered terms.
Vienna Town Council Member Edythe Frankel Kelleher announced earlier that she won’t be seeking another term on the Vienna Town Council. After serving on the council for the past 14 years, she said that “it’s somebody else’s turn” to serve on the Council. Kelleher noted that she also plans to concentrate on her career at the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation, where she is executive director.

Voters will see two incumbents and three challengers on the Town Council ballot; the three top vote-getters will win election to the Vienna Town Council:
- Roy J. Baldwin: Member, Vienna Board of Architectural Review; principal, Baldwin Law Firm
- C. Craig Burns: Pastor, Vienna Assembly of God
- Linda Jane Colbert: Incumbent Member, Town Council
- Pasha M. Majdi: Incumbent Member, Town Council
- Douglas E. Noble: Member, Vienna Planning Commission, works for the Institute of Transportation Engineers in Washington, D.C.
