New businesses in Maple Ave and Glyndon Street complex celebrate with ribbon cuttings, giveaways for residents

Three businesses in the new shopping complex at the corner of Maple Avenue and Glyndon Street will celebrate their opening Thursday with a ribbon cutting and several giveaways for residents and customers.
Owners and managers of Savvy Rest, Metro Eyes and Sweet Leaf Cafe, along with town officials and members of the Town Business Liaison Committee, will cut the grand opening ribbon at 2 p.m. Thursday in the complex, now called Maple Glyn Corner.
Savvy Rest is an organic mattress store based in Charlottesville, Va. Their mattresses are made in central Virginia, and sold at store locations and also through a national network of independently owned stores.

Vienna was chosen for the company's new location, which opened in June, because it's "a tightly-knit community that is very much in-tune with what's going on around the area," said Braden Miller, the store's manager.
"Vienna and the surrounding areas are made up of families and individuals that, for the most part, are forward-thinking when it comes to their health, surroundings and environment," he said. "The "go green" movement has begun to take hold with many people, and a natural and organic bedroom is a major part of that lifestyle."

The store will give away Savvy rest travel pillows to the first 100 guests at the ribbon cutting. They'll also host a drawing, where customers can enter to win $1,000 off the purchase of a Savvy Rest Mattress.
Sweet Leaf Cafe, is a spinoff of the McLean cafe by the same name, opened by their parents years ago.
“Our main focus is just making sure that everything is fresh. Everything in line you see is that delivered that day,” Matini said. “Fresh produce, fresh everything. We also really value people being able to create their own thing, I never turn something down. If you don’t see your favorite combo on the menu we’ll make it for you right there.”
The first 50 customers in line at Sweet Leaf Cafe will receive a free scoop of ice cream with one topping, Andre Matini said.
