3 Holiday Displays For Vienna's Public Lawn To Be Chosen Through Lottery
A lottery will decide holiday displays chosen for Vienna's Freeman Store lawn during the holiday season.

VIENNA, VA — The Town of Vienna is already looking ahead to the winter holiday season with the launch of its second annual holiday display lottery.
Last year, the Town of Vienna held its first contest for residents to submit holiday displays to go with the live Christmas tree outside the Freeman Store and Museum near the Town Green. The winning displays were a menorah to celebrate Hanukkah submitted by Chabad Tysons, a lighted dreidel to celebrate Hanukkah submitted by Jewish Moms of Vienna, and a winter solstice lighted display submitted by Shelley Mountjoy.
Applications for this season's displays opened Sunday and will be accepted through Oct. 15. Three displays meeting design guidelines will be randomly selected by a lottery to appear with the town's Christmas tree outside the Freeman Store and Museum from Dec. 2 to Jan. 10. A $250 deposit would be due to the town if the applicant's display is accepted. Displays would have to be removed by Jan. 10, 2025.
