Juveniles Caught Smoking Marijuana at Area Playground: Police
Here's a look at recent incidents from this week's crime report from the Town of Vienna Police.

VIENNA, VA -- Police say two juveniles were observed smoking marijuana last Friday at an area playground.
The incident took place in the 200 block of Cedar Lane, SE Friday afternoon at about 2:20 p.m., according to police.
An employee of the apartment complex reported that he observed two juveniles smoking marijuana in the area of the playground. Ofc. Slebonick and MPO Lose located the two juveniles and found one of them was in possession of a very small amount of marijuana. The juveniles were released to an adult relative after being verbally counselled.

INCIDENTS
Juvenile Case 16-003054: Cedar Lane School: 101 Cedar Lane, SW April 15 9:25 a.m. Officers responded to assist the school staff with a juvenile student who had become disruptive in class. Officers remained with the student until the staff could release him to the custody of his father.
Assist EMS 16-003072: 300 Block Broadleaf Drive, NE April 15 5:02 p.m. Officers responded to assist with a man who was suffering a medical emergency. Fairfax County Rescue personnel transported the man to an area hospital for further treatment.
Suspicious Event 16-003079: 500 Block Colony Court, NW April 15 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. A resident advised she observed several juveniles urinating in her neighbor’s yard. When the resident confronted the juveniles they walked away. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the juveniles.
Suspicious Event 16-003087:: 100 Block Maple Avenue, West April 16 5:47 a.m. An employee with the construction company working on the shopping center arrived at work and heard someone on the roof. The unknown man fled the construction site before police arrived.
Domestic Dispute 16-003092: Broadleaf Drive, NE April 16 8:34 a.m. Officers responded to a verbal dispute between the residents and their adult son. Ofc. Slebonick discussed various resources available to assist them with their son.
Stolen Vehicle 16-003095: 200 Block Maple Avenue, West Between April 14 at 9:00 a.m. and April 15 at 9:00 a.m. A citizen parked her vehicle in the parking lot of an unoccupied building. The vehicle was missing when she returned the following day.
Assist EMS 16-003124: 800 Block Marjorie Lane, SE April 16 9:36 p.m. Ofc. Herrera responded to assist rescue with a juvenile who was in need of medical attention. The juvenile was refusing assistance, and after being evaluated by rescue personnel, it was determined that the juvenile was not in need of further treatment. The juvenile’s parents, who were out of town, were notified and the juvenile was left in the care of a family friend.
Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated 16-003138: 100 Block Maple Avenue, East April 17 12:02 a.m. Ofc. Post observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. Upon her interaction with the driver she determined that he may have been impaired. She also detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver was offered a series of field sobriety tests which he failed to successfully complete. Ofc. Post then arrested the 23 year old man from Daniel Lewis Lane in Vienna for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Alcohol. The driver was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he provided a sample of his blood for analysis. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia then released to the custody of the deputies.
Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal 16-003145: Mashie Drive and Hine Street, SE April 17 1:30 a.m. PFC Tracy observed a driver commit several traffic violations. As a result he initiated a traffic stop. Upon his interaction with the driver he determined that he may have been impaired. After failing a series of field sobriety tests PFC Tracy arrested the 31 year old man from Dry Creek Road in Candor, North Carolina for Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to the Vienna Police Station where he was given the opportunity to provide a sample of his breath for analysis but refused. After the refusal he was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Refusal. He was held on a $2500 unsecured bond.
Arrest – Narcotics Violation 16-003147: 400 Block Maple Avenue, West April 17 1:32 a.m. Ofc. Reedy observed a driver commit a traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop. Upon his interaction with the occupants they began stating that the passenger’s purse had just been stolen and they were looking for the person who took it (case #16-003149). Ofc. Reedy determined that the driver may have been impaired and was driving on a revoked operator’s license. The driver was offered a series of field sobriety tests which he successfully completed. Ofc. Reedy observed that the driver, a 30 year old man from Nutley Street, SW in Vienna, was in possession of drug paraphernalia and placed him under arrest on this charge. The driver was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving on a Revoked Operator’s License. He was released on his recognizance and Ofc. Reedy escorted him back to his home.
Grand Larceny 16-003149: 300 Block Nutley Street, SW April 17 between 1:15 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. While Ofc. Reedy was investigating the narcotic violation (case #16-003147), the passenger of the vehicle advised that her purse had just been stolen by an acquaintance. The purse contained several of her prescription medications. Officers searched the area for the acquaintance, but they were unable to locate the man. A few hours later the man was located by an employee at the McDonald’s Restaurant, 544 Maple Avenue, West, Vienna, suffering a medical emergency. Officers responded to the restaurant to assist rescue personnel. The man was transported by Fairfax County Rescue personnel to an area hospital for further treatment. Officers found the stolen prescription medications in the man’s possession. This case is being investigated.
Suspicious Event 16-003159: Maggio’s Restaurant 421 Maple Avenue, East April 17 12:30 p.m. An employee reported a customer who had become argumentative over the cost of a drink. The customer was advised by the employee in the officer’s presence that he was no longer permitted in the restaurant. The customer left the area without further incident.
Grand Larceny 16-003187: Westwood Country Club 800 Maple Avenue, East April 18 between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A citizen reported property being stolen from his locker inside the Country Club’s locker room. This case is being investigated.
Lost Property 16-003192: 800 Block Follin Lane, SE April 18 12:45 p.m. A citizen reported losing the front license plate from his vehicle.
Arrest – Obstruction of Justice 16-003194: Sally’s Beauty Supply 329 Maple Avenue, East April 18 between 8:54 p.m. and 9:18 p.m. An employee reported a customer was refusing to leave the store after damaging some items. The employee advised this was an on-going problem with the customer and that they would like to have her trespassed from the store. When MPO Vazquez spoke to the customer she gave him false information as to her identity. As he explained to her that she was no longer permitted in the store she stated she did not feel well and requested the officer summon an ambulance for her. Fairfax County Rescue personnel evaluated the woman and transported her to an area hospital. She also provided false information to the rescue personnel. An employee from the store was able to provide the officer with the woman’s identification. MPO Vazquez obtained two warrants for the 67 year old woman from Scotch Haven Drive in Vienna. After she was released from her evaluation at the hospital the officer transported her to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The warrants were served charging her with Obstruction of Justice and Providing False Information to Law Enforcement. She was held without bond.
Assault 16-003220: Neighbor’s Restaurant 262 Cedar Lane, SE April 19 6:45 p.m. A citizen advised he was assaulted by a man in the bar. Ofc. Hylinski saw no sign of injury. The officer located the man in the bar. He told the officer that the citizen was continuously harassing him so he shoved him away. The citizen was advised of the warrant process should he wish to pursue charges against the man.
Arrest – Domestic Assault 16-003224: Park Terrace Court, SE April 19 10:23 p.m. Officers responding to a domestic assault located the resident, who showed visible signs of injury. Fairfax County Rescue personnel responded and transported the resident to an area hospital. The resident advised that her daughter became angry with her and assaulted her. Officers located the daughter in the home and placed her under arrest. Ofc. Hylinski transported the 36 year old woman from Park Terrace Court, SE in Vienna to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where she was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond.
Petit Larceny 16-003246: 900 Block Moorefield Road, SW April 20 between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. A resident advised someone took the vehicle registration and coins from his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.
Assault 16-003275: 1000 Block Park Street, SE April 20 10:02 p.m. A resident is involved in an on-going civil dispute with a man over ownership of the house. The resident advised that earlier in the night the man came to the home, knocked over some appliances and punched her. There were no visible signs of injury and the resident did not wish to pursue charges at this time. The resident was advised of the warrant process should she later wish to pursue charges.
Suspicious Event 16-003291: Skintelligence 421 Church Street, NE April 21 11:39 a.m. An employee advised of a suspicious female who keeps calling their business requesting to speak to another employee. It is reported that there is an on-going issue between the caller and the other employee, and the caller seems very agitated.
Domestic Dispute 16-003300: Roosevelt Court, NE April 21 6:57 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a domestic dispute between family and household members. The officers assisted in settling the dispute and advised of the warrant process and civil process should any of the family or household members wish to pursue the issue.
Arrest – Narcotic Violation 16-003315: Locust Street at Park Terrace Court, SE April 21 11:04 p.m. Ofc. Herrera observed a driver commit a traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop. Upon his interaction with the driver he found she was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a measurable amount of marijuana. The driver, a 20 year old female from Tapawingo Road, SW in Vienna, was issued a summons for Possession of Marijuana. She was released after signing the summons.
