Madison High's 'Pride of Vienna' Marching Band Performs at Disney World

VIENNA, VA -- James Madison High School students from Vienna entertained thousands of Walt Disney World Resort guests last Friday with their performance at Magic Kingdom, according to a news release from Disney.

The James Madison High School "Pride of Vienna" Marching Band students, alongside director Michael Hackbarth, marched down iconic Main Street, U.S.A., past Cinderella’s Castle playing songs and cadences that capture the spirit of Americana before the nightly Main Street Electrical Parade.

The group of 140 students traveled more than 800 miles from Vienna to Florida to participate in the popular program. This was the school’s seventh visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with Disney Performing Arts.

Vocal, instrumental and dance ensembles from all around the world apply to perform each year as part of Disney Performing Arts at both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Once selected, they are given the opportunity to perform amongst an international audience of Disney theme park guests. Millions of performers have graced the stages of the Disney Parks in the more than 25-year history of the program.
