Maryland Woman Arrested For Prescription Fraud At Walgreens

Vienna Police charge woman in August incident at Maple Avenue pharmacy

Police arrested the woman they say was responsible for forging prescriptions at Walgreen's Pharmacy last month.

Police were first called to Walgreens, 225 Maple Avenue E, around 5:49 p.m. Aug. 20, when an employee reported a female customer had entered the store and presented a fraudulent prescription. While waiting for the prescription to be “filled” the woman shoplifted several items of clothing. The woman left the store before officers could arrive.

After investigating, Vienna Police, with assistance from a Fairfax County detective, identified the woman and secured a warrant for her arrest.

On Sept. 7, police arrested Alicia Ann Garcia, 26, of Ashton, Maryland for obtaining drugs by forging a prescription. They served her the warrant at  the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where Garcia was already incarcerated on a similar charge.
