A student left school grounds without permission today but was quickly returned to the school by Vienna Police.
Sometime Wednesday afternoon, the boy left the school, wrote Principal John Carmichael in an email. The staff member supervising the students contacted the front office, where staff members were sent to help locate the student, he said.
It's not yet clear how or why the boy left the school.

The Vienna Police Department was also called, and located the boy in about 15 minutes, Officer Bill Murray said.
Classes continued as normal during the search, Carmichael wrote.
"As always, student safety is our utmost importance and I want to commend our staff and the Vienna Police Department for handling this professionally," Carmichael wrote.
