Police Log: Police Respond To Several Domestic Assaults
The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Highlights from the Vienna Police Department log, Oct. 14 to Oct.20
- An unlocked bicycle was stolen between Oct. 3 and 16 from an unlocked shed on Adahi Road.
- A car was traveling along southbound Park Street around 6 p.m. Oct. 6, while a bicyclist was attempting to cross over Park Street while riding on the W and OD Trail. The bicyclist disregarded the stop sign and was struck by the motor vehicle. The rider was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
- A citizen on Park Terrace Court SE reported on Oct. 14 she was assaulted by her father around 7 p.m. Oct. 11, after a verbal argument about the woman moving out of the apartment. During the dispute, she said, the father retrieved two knives from a kitchen area and threatened to kill her if she moved out. Other family members intervened and the situation ended. Two days later the father threatened the woman and other family members again.A magistrate refused to issue a warrant for domestic assault but did issue one for simple assault, which Vienna Police used to arrest the father. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and released on his own recognizance. An Emergency Protective Order was also issued him.
- A woman reported at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 she had been in a violent relationship for some time with a man, with whom she also has a child. That day, the woman and man were arguing when he began choking her, she said. When she tried to phone for help, he stopped her. Fairfax County EMS responded to the residence on Patrick Street and took the woman to a local hospital, where she is expected to recover. Police are investigating the case.
- A man reported between 5 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Oct. 14, someone stuck a screwdriver into one of the tires of his vehicle parked on Branch Road.
- A 17-year-old boy told police around 6:04 p.m. Oct. 14 he had been kicked out of his house on Stephen's Circle by his father. Police responded and found the son is in a relationship with a woman, who was also staying at the father's home. The father no longer wanted her there but he did not tell the son to leave the home. Fairfax County Child Protective Services were contacted and they will follow up on this case.
- A woman reported at 8:29 p.m. Oct. 14 she met someone online, who offered her some electronic merchandise. She agreed to buy the products and sent several money orders to the seller, but has yet to receive the merchandise. The woman then discovered several fradulent withdrawls had been made from her checking account. Police are still investigating the case.
- A citizen found some ammunition and dropped it off at police headquarters Oc.t 15 for destruction.
- A woman reported she believed she lost her wallet between 4 p.m. and 8:03 p.m. Oct. 15 while shopping at Whole Foods. It was unclear whether the wallet was lost or actually stolen.
- A citizen reported around 8:51 p.m. Oct. 15 a woman been touched inappropriately by a man in the Cedar Park Shopping Center. Police found both subjects a short time later, but found no criminal act warranting charges had occurred.
- An employee at Café Renaissance reported around 10:15 p.m. Oct. 15 he was assaulted by another employee. Police interviews yielded different accounts of the events. The warrant obtainment process was explained to both employees.
- Police responded to the INOVA Urgent Care center on Maple Avenue E around 2:23 p.m. Oct. 16 to assist with a combative patient. The patient had apparently suffered a concussion and was disoriented. The patient was calmed and transported to an area hospital by Fairfax County EMS.
- A daughter and her father were arguing about her skin condition around 5:49 p.m. Oct. 17 at the family's Thelma Circle home. The father called a medical facility, which requested the daughter come speak to them. The daughter was taken there by an officer.
- A customer was seen taking a six pack of malt liquor beer around 6:56 p.m Oct. 17 at Giant Food Supermarket on Maple Avenue. A manager met the subject outside the store and took the beer from him. The suspect then left and police were notified.
- Later that night, around 9:47 p.m., an employee of Giant reported he'd seen two people concealing some beer. When confronted, the beer was returned. Police investigation revealed the identities of both parties involved, but the store manager did not want to pursue charges if the other merchandise was returned.
Police are investigating the case. - A citizen reported at 2:12 p.m. Oct. 18 he had bought a watch from a pawn shop on Maple Avenue. He then resold the watch. The original owner of the watch learned about the resale, and asked for the watch back. Police discussed the legal options with both parties.
- A citizen on Niblick Drive SE reported at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 19 that a subject came and agreed to perform some landscaping work. The prospective worker provided a reference and when the complainant called the reference she provided him with positive remarks. A short time later the former employer of the prospective worker called and told the complainant the subject no longer worked for them and that he has a criminal record.After investigating, Police learned an arrest warrant was on file for the individual from Fairfax County. The individual had already left the premises.
A woman on Thelma Circle SW reported at 9:13 p.m. Oct. 19 her daughter was out of control because she had been taking her prescribed medication, which her parents did not feel she should be taking. After discussion, the adult daughter left the house for the night. - The business owner of Once Upon A Time on Church Street NE reported around 9:58 a.m. Oct. 20 someone known to them had called and threatened them.
- Police responded at 7:39 p.m. Oct. 20 to an argument between a mother and daughter on Colin Lane NW. The daughter had been asked to move out of the home and had become physically and verbally abusive towards the
mother and father. The daughter was transported to a medical facility to be evaluated by medical personnel. After a brief period of time a doctor told the daughter she could return home but refused to speak with the parents.
ARRESTS
A citizen on Melody Lane SE reported around 1 a.m. Sept. 24 she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. She reported that the boyfriend pushed her down and battered her around her chest. Vienna Police obtained warrants for the boyfriend for misdemeanor sexual assault and domestic assault. The boyfriend turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center based on the outstanding warrants. Robert Barr, 26, of Vienna, was served the two warrants and held without bond. An Emergency Protective Order was also served on Mr. Barr.

An officer observed two apparently intoxicated men coming toward him in his cruiser around 12:22 a.m. Oct. 17 in the Cedar Lane Shopping Center. After investigating, he arrested Julio Cornejo, 41, of Vienna and Randolfo Lamotes, 47, of no fixed address. They were taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
A person reported he saw an apparently intoxicated man stumbling in Glyndon Park around 6:06 p.m. Oct. 17. Police responded and began to investigate the man when he tried to leave. Police had to physically detain him. They arrested John Mills, 55, of Vienna, for drunk in public. During the search incident to arrest, some freshly prepared sushi was discovered inside the front of the Mills' pants. It is unclear from where the sushi was taken.He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without incident.
