Police Log: Police Search For Man Who Watched Young Girl Wait For School Bus

The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vienna Police are looking for a man who fled last week after watching a young girl board a school bus.

A mother called police when she saw a man watching her daughter as she waited for the school bus at 6:40 a.m. Sept. 29 at Cottage Street and Kingsley Road SW.

The man watched the daughter until she boarded the bus, and then ran away.

The man was described as a white male, 5’ 8” tall, heavy set, wearing a white shirt.

  • A father of a boy that attends Marshall Road Elementary School reported that between Sept. 10 and 26, his son was bullied and assaulted while at the school. He told police he reported the incidents but said "nothing has come about to make the situation any better." Police gave the father information about the warrant obtainment process, but he did not wish to press charges at the present time.
  • Police noticed a parked vehicle with expired Virginia state inspection around 4:10 a.m. Sept. 23 on Patrick Street. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was reported as stolen from Prince William County. The vehicle was recovered and the Prince William County Police were notified of the event.
  • A school security officer at Cedar Lane School reported three students were refusing to go to class around 8 a.m. Sept. 23, pulling papers from bulletin boards, running in the halls and being loud and disruptive. Police responded to fine the students had been placed in an office. The school will take administrative action against the boys, they said.
  • Around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23, an employee of the Vienna Park Apartments on Cedar Lane SE reported two incidents where laundry had been removed from a washing machine. The clothes were not stolen, just removed from the machine.
  • A woman reported her violin was stolen from inside her unlocked car between 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and 9 a.m. Sept. 24. The case is being investigated.
  • A man reported between 7 p.m. Sept. 23 and 9 a.m. Sept. 24, someone rummaged through his vehicle while it was parked on John Marshall Drive NE. It didn't appear as if anything was taken; the man doesn't remember whether or not his car was locked.
  • Fairfax County Police requested the Vienna Police's help in locating a man around 7:21 p.m. Sept. 23. FCPD said the man and his former girlfriend were having a disagreement regarding their son. Vienna Police located the man on Tapawingo Road and after interviewing him, determined there was no criminal violation involved. The man was given information about different options.
  • A woman reported between 10 p.m. Sept. 23 and 5:30 a.m. Sept. 24, someone rummaged through her vehicle while it was parked on John Marshall Drive, NE. It does not appear that anything was taken.
  • A resident of Fairway Drive NE complained vehicles are speeding on Fairway Drive after 10:00 p.m.
  • A citizen reported around 11:18 p.m. Sept. 23 that a suspicious man was near an unoccupied home on Holmes Drive NW. Police located the man and discovered he was part of a hide-and-seek game organized online.
  • Police responded to Olympian Circle SW around 11 a.m. Sept. 24 to assist Fairfax County EMS in treating a woman who had mistakenly ingested someone else's medication. The woman was taken to an area hospital and is expected to fully recover.
  • While picking up some donated goods around 11:55 a.m. Sept. 24 on Cottage Street SW, a man told Police his vehicle struck a guide wire that caused power to go out. Dominion Power was notified and responded to repair the wire and restore power.
  • A woman on Tapawingo Road SW reported at 7 a.m. Sept. 25 that her brother's  family was visiting but now refused to leave her home. Police responded and discussed the situation with the involved parties. The brother’s family left without incident.
  • A man reported on Sept. 26 that he saw several juveniles consuming alcohol between 3 p.m. and  11:59 p.m. Sept. 25 at Northside Park. Police asked the man to call immediately if he observed the behavior again.
  • At 5:51 p.m. Sept. 25, a caller told police a man and woman were arguing in the parking lot of Patrick Henry Library. Police located the couple and separated them.  They found the two were having an argument but that there was no criminal violation.The two individuals left the area together without incident.
  • A father on Stephen Circle SW reported around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 25 his juvenile son failed to return home as directed. He is not believed to be in any immediate danger. This case is still being investigated.
  • Around 7:34 a.m. Sept. 26, Police responded to Thelma Circle where a daughter and her mother were having an argument about medication that belonged to the daughter.  The daughter gathered some property and left the home without incident.
  • A man reported around 2 p.m. Sept. 26, some clothing and a cell phone were stolen from the bed of his pickup truck while it was parked in front of the Cedar Lane Shopping Center. This case is still being investigated.
  • A resident of Park Street reported around 8:24 p.m. Sept. 26 she was having chest pains after arguing with a family member. The argument was verbal in nature and no physical contact was reported. Fairfax County EMS responded and took the complainant to an area hospital.
  • An employee of the Vienna Inn called police around 10:52 p.m. Sept. 26 to report a fight was in progress at the restaurant. When police arrived they found fighting had ceased and one of the people had left. The person that remained was interviewed; no charges were filed.
  • A citizen reported as she left the CVS on Maple Avenue around 8:58 a.m., she and her daughter heard a man begin yelling obscenities about traffic on Glyndon Street and Maple Avenue.
  • Fairfax County Police contacted Vienna Police Sept. 29 about the welfare of a woman on Stephen Circle SW. They said a student at Madison High School had received disturbing texts from the woman, 21,  and became concerned. The student told the School Resource Officer. Vienna Police located the woman and she agreed to go to a medical facility for evaluation and possible treatment. After the evaluation she was returned to the home on Stephens Circle.
  • The owner of Fannie's Beauty Salon reported at 3:27 p.m. Sept. 29 a contractor had placed his ladder in her flowerbed to paint the exterior of her building.The contractor was counseled regarding appropriate ladder placement.
  • A 9-1-1 call was made to police around 10:04 am. Sept. 29. The caller hung up before providing any further information. Police responded to the source of the call, a home on Thelma Circle SW, and found a mother had called regarding her out of control daughter. The daughter was voluntarily transported to a medical facility for evaluation and treatment.
  • A woman reported she was bitten by a dog around 7:03 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Vienna Dog Park. After she was bitten, she cursed at the dog's owner. The dog who bit the woman was placed in quarantine per town regulation. The Animal Control Officer is following up on this case.

Arrests

While conducting a traffic stop at 11:10 p.m. Sept. 22 on Maple Avenue NE, police learned the driver's privilege to drive in Virginia was suspended.

Police arrested Lorena Isabel Flores, 22, of Centreville, for the offense. She was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
