Server Arrested For Vandalizing Customer's Car

Coastal Flats employee showed up at Vienna resident's home in August to complain he was not tipped enough

A Tysons Corner restaurant employee was located and arrested by Vienna Police earlier this month for an incident in which he allegedly tracked down and confronted a Vienna customer whom he felt had not tipped him properly.

Omid Singh, 26, of Clifton, was arrested Oct. 3 for vandalism and held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.

In August, a Vienna resident called police on Kingsley Road SW around 11 p.m. demanding money. The acquaintance was a server at Coastal Flats in Tysons Corner, and felt he had not been tipped enough for a meal he had served the resident a month earlier.

When the server began threatening the resident, the resident closed the door on the server. A short time later, the resident heard a loud noise and went outside to investigate, but found nothing out of the ordinary.

The next morning, the resident went outside and discovered a hood ornament had been removed from his car, the vehicle scratched and a window smashed out. The resident attempted to reach the server, but was unable to reach him.

After investigating, Vienna police identified Singh as the server and obtained a warrant charging him with vandalism. He was arrested at Tysons Corner Mall and taken to the adult detention center, where he was formally charged.
