Drivers on the tail end of Friday morning's rush hour found themselves in an unusually dirty commute.
Around 9:43 a.m., the rear closure of a waste management trash collection truck traveling along Beulah Road began to open, releasing a load of garbage across two lanes of the road near where it intersects with Ayrhill Avenue NE.
Town of Vienna public works employees, along with waste management staff, closed the road for 30 minutes to clear the debris while officers directed traffic.
