2nd Annual Community Trunk or Treat 2024

A Night of Fun and Frights sponsored by Chick-fil-A and The George Washington Hotel

Last night, families from around the area gathered for the highly anticipated second annual Trunk or Treat hosted by Chick-fil-A and The George Washington Hotel! With costumes of all kinds, candy galore, and a community spirit that stretched down the block (literally), the event was a huge success. Families lined up well before the official start time, and by the time the event opened, the line wrapped around the corner—an early sign that this would be a Halloween celebration to remember!

From classic costumes like witches and princesses to quirky crowd-pleasers, it was a feast for the eyes. One of the most memorable attendees was a young boy dressed as none other than Colonel Sanders himself, complete with a suit and ribbon tie, a mustache, glasses, and even a bucket of chicken! We also saw mini Ghostbusters, a dinosaur, and a range of other creative costumes. Even the Chick-fil-A Cow mascot got into the spirit, sporting a superhero costume that added an extra touch of charm to the festivities.

Organized by Kerri Lane Mariano from Chick-fil-A and Suzi Smith from The George Washington Hotel, this event brought together local businesses and individuals who volunteered their time, vehicles, and Halloween spirit to make it all happen. Special thanks go out to Alamo, McDonald's, Mouse Ear Magic Travel, Blue Ridge Agents, Premier Move, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, Tracy Clontz, iHeart Media, and The Apple Blossom Festival. Each trunk was decked out in creative Halloween themes, providing fun photo ops and treats for the kids. The Apple Blossom Festival even brought out a spooky float full of pumpkins, skeletons and spiders.
