  1. On Jun. 8, Frederick County School Board member Miles Adkins was arrested and now faces two misdemeanor charges for allegedly driving under the influence and refusing a breath test. According to Virginia State Police, at about 1:27 a.m. troopers stopped Adkins, who was driving a vehicle traveling west on Va. 7. The 39-year-old has since posted bond from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and he declined to comment on the phone on Monday, Jun. 12. (Subscription: Winchester Star)
  2. On Monday night, Jun. 11, the Winchester School Board unanimously voted to approve a series of employee salary increases. The decision comes after the Winchester City Council agreed to completely fund Winchester School's fiscal year 2024 budgetary request last month. The new fiscal year begins Jul. 1.   3. Virginia Career Works Winchester is hosting the Winchester Job Fair on Thursday, Jun. 15! The Virginia Department of Social Services and other HIlltop, Aerotek, and more employers will be attending. The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 419 N.
