The Winchester Book Caper is a family-friendly walking mystery that takes place in the heart of Winchester’s historic downtown mall. Instead of just reading the story, you get to become part of it, following clues, visiting local businesses, and picking up bits of Winchester’s history along the way.

When I started this project, I wanted more than just a book. I wanted to share my love for my hometown while giving families a reason to get out, explore, and spend time together. The idea was simple: create an adventure where locals might discover a store they’ve never visited, and visitors could experience the charm and character of Winchester for the first time.

The route takes you past participating shops and through some of the most scenic and historic spots downtown. You might learn something new about Winchester’s past or about the businesses that make this community unique, all while trying to crack the mystery of the missing books.
