Santa, Celebrities and the Author of The Gingerbread Games Join Middletown's Holiday Celebration—Mark Your Calendar for a Season of Magic!
The holiday season is right around the corner, and if there’s one small town that knows how to do Christmas right, it’s Middletown, Virginia! Overflowing with charm, history, warmth, and a spirit that lights up every corner, Middletown is the perfect holiday escape for anyone looking to be swept into the season's magic.
This town’s festive energy inspired my holiday book, The Gingerbread Games, and I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s celebrations! From twinkling lights and festive decor to community events that bring people together, Middletown has something for everyone. Make sure Middletown’s events are on your calendar. I can’t wait to share in the holiday cheer with all of you!
Here’s a look at some of the must-see events coming up in Middletown this holiday season:
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony – Friday, November 29th at 4:45 PM
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Reliance Road near McDonald’s kicks off the season with a beautiful tree lighting, carolers, live music, and a cozy bonfire. Families can enjoy free food, drinks, special presents for the little ones, and a visit from the Chick-fil-A Santa Cow! It’s a magical way to welcome the holidays and create special memories with family and friends.

12th Annual Middletown Christmas Parade – Sunday, December 8th at 2 PM
There’s no better way to celebrate the holiday season than with Middletown’s 12th Annual Christmas Parade. Starting at 2 PM from Laurel Ridge Community College, the parade brings together horses, floats, marching bands, and festive decorations galore—all leading up to a grand appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus! Be sure to come early to snag a great viewing spot, and don’t forget to explore our town’s charming shops and eateries while you’re here.
Cookies with Santa (and a Special Book Signing) at the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department
After the parade, bring the family to the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department for Cookies with Santa! Kids can meet Santa, share their holiday wishes, and enjoy delicious cookies—it’s always a holiday highlight and a memory-maker for the little ones.

As an extra treat, I’ll be there after the parade for a holiday book signing of The Gingerbread Games. Stop by, say hello, and pick up a signed copy if you’d like to take a piece of Middletown’s holiday spirit home with you.
