- There will be rotating street closures in the City of Winchester from now until the end of July due to city utility and streetscape improvement. The rotating street closures will take place during June and July from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, between Cameron Street and Braddock Street. Click here for more details. - The Shenandoah Valley Wine Festival is back! The events will take place Saturday, Jun. 24, from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester. The event features 10 wineries and eight craft vendors serving drinks that participants can taste, and the ticket includes a souvenir glass. Click here to purchase your ticket in advance. (WHSV)
- On Jun. 17, participants gathered to commemorate American Revolutionary War hero Daniel Morgan and his Beeline March. The Colonel James Wood II Chapter of the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) led the ceremony at Morgan’s tomb in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester. Nine SAR Chapters, two Daughters of the American Revolution Chapters, the Children of the American Revolution Society, and the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America all participated in honoring Morgan. - The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Bloodhound K-9 Bleu was taken to Valley Veterinary Emergency Center in Winchester on Sunday evening, Jun. 18, by Deputy Dan Clark. The veterinarians discovered Bleu was suffering from Gastric Torsion and his stomach had flipped. Bleu was treated and then later released on Tuesday morning, Jun. 20.
