Arrest After Illegal Fireworks Hit Cars, Home: Fire Marshal's Office

Woman faces up to 1 year in jail and/or up to $2,500 in fines, according to authorities.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A woman is accused of setting off illegal fireworks on July 4, hitting a home and two cars, according to the Prince William County Fire Marshal's Office.

Jackelin Esmeralda Rivera, of Woodbridge, is charged with possession and use of unlawful fireworks.

Authorities claim Rivera was responsible for the fireworks involved in the July 4 incident.

She was released on a $1000 unsecured bond. Her court date is August 25, 2016.

The charge is a class 1 misdemeanor and carries a penalty of up to 12 months in jail and/or up to $2,500 in fines.
