If you are dealing with domestic violence and need help, there are resources available in Woodbridge and Prince William County as well as the state.

ACTS Turning Points in Dumfries, VA is a domestic violence program that serves the Prince William County area as well as the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. The nonprofit has extensive assistance programs and an emergency hotline.

ACTS Turng Points defines domestic violence as,  “a pattern of physically, sexually, and/or emotionally abusive behaviors used by one individual to maintain power over or control a partner in the context of an intimate or family relationship” on its website.

Within the ACTS Turning Points nonprofit program, there is a 24-hour crisis hotline, two battered women and children shelters, a court advocacy program, support groups and advocacy for victims of domestic violence in English and Spanish.

There is also a batterer’s intervention group, peer educational support groups for children, nurturing parenting groups, transitional living for survivors of domestic violence. Public awareness and training is also available for individuals, groups and businesses on domestic violence and how to help.
