Happy Birthday, Woodbridge Patch
Today the news and information site has its first birthday

One year ago today, Our site was the second in Virginia and the first in Prince William County. A little over 1,930 articles, 154 announcements and countless events later, we’re still trucking.
For a little bit of perspective of how fast Patch.com has grown, when this site launched we were number 102 nationwide. Now, there are nearly 900 sites across the country.
As many of you know, this is my hometown. I was born and raised right here in good ‘ole PWC, I attended Westridge Elementary School, Woodbridge Middle School and Osbourn Park High School. (Yes, I know I will forever be one of “those” Woodbridge kids who went to high school in Manassas.)

It is amazing to see how much the site has grown since its inception last year. I constantly get comments, emails and phone calls from people asking about Patch and what we do.
Yes, we still have work to do to spread the word about Woodbridge Patch and what we do. Yes, some people will still confused us with Woodbridge, NJ Patch but we’ll power through.

The biggest part of our first year has been you, our readership. We couldn’t create the platform for the conversations you all have had on the site this past year if it weren’t for your tips and input.
Our team is a great one, as well. Although my face and name are in the upper left-hand corner of the site at all times, there are so many people who we have to thank. Our regional editor, Chris Moore, our Associate Regional Editor, Dan Telvock, our nearby editors for Lake Ridge-Occoquan, Rachel Leon and Dale City, Nathan Curby for being good neighbors.
Thanks to all of our contributors, columnists, bloggers, readers and fans. Here’s to another year.
