
Four Potomac Rapphanock Transportation Commission OmniRide routes will be re-routed away from part of 14th street in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 28 as part of a District Department of Transportation plan to reduce congestion.
The public transportation company said that this re-routing plan has been in the design stage for months, and the District DOT is now ready to move forward.
Starting Monday, February 28, all afternoon and evening OmniRide buses that serve the State Department
will be re-routed away from 14th Street between H and Pennsylvania, where extreme traffic congestion
makes adherence to our published schedules unreliable. Instead, PRTC’s buses will travel along 15th
Street.
These afternoon/evening routes are affected:

- Dale City – Washington OmniRide (Dale City OmniRide trips that currently start at 14th and New York will instead start at H and Madison);
- Lake Ridge – Washington OmniRide;
- Manassas OmniRide - including the morning trips that run ‘reverse’ routing; and
- Route 1 OmniRide
Because of the new routing, the affected routes will no longer serve these two bus stops:
- 14th and New York
- 14th and F
Alternate afternoon/evening bus stops will be at;

- A new bus stop that will be added at 15th and New York.
- Commerce Department
Beacuse of the new change, buses will also not be obliged to wait at the Commerce Department for additional passengers.
