Update: Tornado Watch Canceled for Prince William County

Strong gusts are expected throughout the day.

Update: 12:54 p.m., The National Weather Service has canceled its tornado watch for Prince William County. Thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the day. 

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the Prince William County area, as well as most of Northern Virginia, until 4 p.m.

NWS said that severe thunderstorms expected after 1 p.m. today could be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes.

Thunderstorms are expected to stop by 7 p.m. this evening, but scattered showers may remain until late tonight.
