Tip Jar Stolen In Woodbridge Business Burglary: Police

Prince William County Police say a tip jar was taken during a burglary at a restaurant in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A tip jar theft during a burglary is one of the incidents Prince William County Police have investigated around Woodbridge in early January.

Police had responded around 1:20 p.m. last Saturday at the Jersey Mike's at 3282 Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge. An investigation determined the burglary happened around 11:10 p.m. the night before. A tip jar with an undisclosed amount of money was missing after the burglary.

Cameras showed a man wearing dark-colored clothing and a mask inside the business. Police did not release an additional suspect description or surveillance footage of the burglary.

Aggravated Assault: On January 7 at 12:43AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of Katherine Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 47-year-old man, woke to an individual assaulting him. After a brief struggle, the parties separated, and the police were contacted. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The incident was not random and the investigation continues.

Felony Child Neglect: On January 4 at 8:04PM, officers responded to the Rolling Brook
Apartments located in the 1800 block of Sugar Hill Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate
a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the accused assaulted and grabbed the
neck of the victim, a 4-year-old boy. The parties were separated by another family member
and the police were contacted. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life
threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Raymond
Lindsey Butler, was arrested.

Strong-Arm Robbery Arrest: On January 3, 2025, officers identified the suspect sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the ABC store located at 2231 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) on December 24, 2024. While investigating the incident, officers determined the suspect was also involved in previous shopliftings from the same store between November 6 and December 24, 2024. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the suspect, identified as Jamie Machuchi Alvarado, who was arrested without incident on January 3.

Strong-Arm Robbery [Previously Released]: On December 24 at 4:48PM, officers responded to
the ABC Store located at 2231 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The
investigation revealed a store employee attempted to stop a patron who was attempting to take
unpaid merchandise. A physical altercation ensued before the suspect was able to leave the store
with two bottles of alcohol. Officers checked the area for the suspect who was not located. The
suspect was described as a Middle Eastern male in his 30s, approximately 5’7” with a slim build
wearing a dark-colored jacket overtop a dark-colored sweatshirt, and carrying a dark blue backpack.

Armed Robbery: On January 3 at 12:57PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 3100 block of River Heritage Blvd. in Dumfries (22026) earlier that afternoon around 11:30AM. The investigation revealed the victim, a 17-year-old male juvenile, was approached by three unknown individuals in a wooded area near the above location. During the encounter, one of the individuals brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s jacket before the suspects left the area. No injuries were reported. The victim reported the incident to a family member later that day who contacted the police. The suspects were described as being between 18-25 years old, wearing all dark-colored clothing.
