Verizon Kills Automatic White Pages Delivery

Verizon ends automated delivery of printed white pages directory.

Verizon announced on Monday that it will no longer automatically deliver the white pages directory of residential numbers in Virginia.

Those who need to find a residential number will now have to look for it online atverizon.com/whitepages. The company will continue to deliver the yellow pages directory along with government numbers.

Automated service for the white pages will stop at the end of July with the release of the Danville Verizon Superpages.

Customers can order free print and CD-ROM versions of the white pages directories by calling 1-800-888-8448 as each local yellow pages directory begins delivery.

The move will save Verizon money and the company says it will keep approximately 17,000 tons of paper out of the waste system every year.
