Kelsey and Emily competed in AAA States, held in Va. Beach this past weekend and both swam their best of the season. Kelsey broke the 1998 record held by Coach Brown's wife Amanda (back then she was Amanda Van Horn) in the 400 Meter Freestyle with a time of 4:39.78, and Emily broke Megan Lisbon's record set at the same pool last year in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.22. Both girls made it back to finals on Saturday, Emily placing 8th in her back and Kelsey 15th in her 400 free.
Taylor Vincent qualified in the 50 and the 100 Freestyle; she placed 5th in the 50 (26.73) and 6th in the 100 (58.69.) Kelly Henry qualified in the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke; she placed 16th in the 200 IM (2:28.58.) Our 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle relays – both consisting of Shelby Jordan, Kelly Henry, Taylor Vincent and Heather Emert – qualified for States as well. Both relays finished 16th.
