'Captain Underpants' Attempts To Outrun Pasco Police
A Thursday night post to the Pasco Police Department Facebook page describes an unusual incident involving an undies-only clad criminal.

PASCO, WA - A Pasco man "channeling the power of Captain Underpants" on Thursday led police on a brief chase near Columbia Basin College wearing only his skivvies and a shirt. In a short Facebook post made Thursday night Pasco police described the indecent incident in detail.
Officers reportedly got a call involving a man and woman causing a disturbance at the Columbia Basin College parking lot just before 1:30 a.m. Jan. 9. As officers arrived, they observed a white truck with a single occupant attempting to leave the area.
Officers split the task and separately contacted the driver — later identified as 21-year-old Dallas Jeffrey Souder — and the woman, who was not identified in the post.

While speaking with him the officers noted Souder wasn't wearing pants — or anything aside from his drawers and an undershirt. The conversation evidently did not last long.
"Souder decided he didn't enjoy the company of fine officers and sped off southbound on 20th (Avenue)," the Facebook post read in-part. "(Souder) swerved into oncoming lanes of traffic, suddenly slammed on his brakes and took off, channeling the power of Captain Underpants, running up a hill and climbing over (a) chain-link fence."

But fear not, the post continued, "Fueled by the power of chicken nuggets, (PPD Officer Grosz) was right behind him, leaping over the fence like an Arabian steed; and like that … the chase was over."

Souder was taken to Franklin County jail and lodged on several charges, which include attempting to elude police, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and resisting arrest, police said.
