High School Athletic Trainer Arrested For Sexually Abusing Minor

Hockinson High School head athletic trainer Jason Meharry was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual misconduct of a Hockinson student.

BRUSH PRAIRIE, WA — The head athletic trainer contracted to Hockinson High School in Brush Prairie, Washington, was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual misconduct of a minor, Clark County Sheriff's Officials announced.

Jason Allen Meharry, 26, was taken to Clark County Jail following his arrest. It does not appear as though he is eligible for bail.

Meharry is employed by Proactive Physical Therapy, Clark County Sheriff's officials said, noting the victim in the case is a Hockinson High School student.

Proactive Physical Therapy, in an email to Patch, announced it had terminated Meharry's employment and will cooperate fully with any investigation.

According to Meharry's bio on the Proactive Physical Therapy website, Meharry attended school in Walla Walla, Washington, Hawaii, and Utah, where he also previously worked with high school and college men's and women's sports teams and other athletic programs.

Calls to Hockinson's Athletic Department were not immediately returned.
