WA Transportation Dept. Seeks Public Input For North Spokane Corridor Design Concepts

SPOKANE, WA –People are invited to provide feedback on architectural designs for bridges and walls to be built at Wellesley and Euclid Avenues as part of the North Spokane Corridor (NSC).

The Washington State Department of Transportation invites everyone interested in the NSC, especially businesses and residents of the Hillyard and Minnehaha neighborhoods, to participate in the online survey that will be available until April 13, 2020.

The concepts are based on themes relevant to the surrounding Hillyard and Minnehaha neighborhoods as identified during recent workshops and meetings. This effort is part of WSDOT’s comprehensive community engagement process to ensure the routes, connections and design elements of the NSC and adjacent Children of the Sun multimodal trail reflect the unique legacy and culture of the neighborhoods they will serve.

The North Spokane Corridor will move vehicles and freight traffic away from local arterials and onto a free-flowing freeway, allowing motorists and freight to travel more efficiently north and south through metropolitan Spokane. Once complete, the NSC will decrease travel time, fuel usage and congestion while improving safety by reducing collisions on local arterials.
