All Bellevue Beaches Have Reopened For Swimming

Just in time for the heatwave, the Enatai Beach swimming area has reopened to visitors.

BELLEVUE, WA — Following in the footsteps of Newcastle Beach, Bellevue's Enatai Beach reopened Friday, after new tests showed bacteria in the water had receded to low-risk levels. Both beaches reopening is especially welcome news ahead of this weekend, with temperatures poised to hit the mid-90s by Sunday.

With Enatai's return, all six city beaches are back in action. If one beach looks crowded, residents are encouraged to seek out another park:

  • Enatai Beach, Newcastle Beach and Meydenbauer Bay parks have lifeguards noon-7 p.m., seven days a week, through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
  • Chism Beach and Clyde Beach parks have lifeguards noon-7 p.m., seven days a week through Aug. 22.
  • Chesterfield Beach Park has lifeguards 2-5 p.m., seven days a week through Aug. 22.

An excessive heat watch will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
