Bacteria Levels Close Meydenbauer Bay Beach To Swimmers
Bellevue is down a swimming beach amid the latest heat wave after tests found elevated bacteria levels at Meydenbauer Bay Park.

BELLEVUE, WA — The swimming area at Meydenbauer Bay Park is closed until further notice after water quality tests found elevated bacteria levels, city officials announced Friday. Such closures are usually in place for at least a week and are lifted only after tests show bacteria levels have returned to safe levels.
While contact with the water is not advised, the park itself will remain open to visitors. Warning signs are posted to avoid swimming.
With at least another day of high heat in the forecast, four of Bellevue's other beaches are open to swimmers and staffed with lifeguards: Chism, Clyde, Enatai and Newcastle. Lifeguards are on duty every day between noon and 7 p.m.
