Bellevue Officer Dies In Motorcycle Crash
Officer Jordan Jackson died from his injuries Monday after a crash near Bellevue High School.

BELLEVUE, WA — A Bellevue motorcycle officer was rushed to the hospital and died from his injuries Monday after a car hit his patrol motorcycle on Bellevue Way Southeast. The Bellevue Police Department on Monday evening identified the officer as Jordan Jackson, 34, who served in the community since 2018.
Jackson transferred to the traffic unit to work as a motorcycle officer in 2020 and was recently named employee of the quarter. His supervisor praised his leadership and eagerness to take on tasks, the department said.
“We are devastated by Officer Jackson’s tragic death,” said Bellevue Police Chief Wendell Shirley. “Our hearts go out to his wife, two children, his family and friends, and extended BPD family as they grieve. This is a huge loss for the entire community.”

Jackson was raised in Spokane and went on to graduate from Issaquah High School and Central Washington University. Before joining the Bellevue Police Department, he worked as an EMT, firefighter, and search and rescue volunteer in King County. He is survived by his wife and two children.
According to Washington State Patrol, Jackson was traveling north on Bellevue Way when a vehicle entered the road from a parking lot and struck his motorcycle. Detectives said the driver showed no signs of impairment and troopers do not believe speed played a factor in the crash.
