I-405 Lane Closures This Week In Bellevue: What To Know
Contractors are working over several nights to set new girders on the new Main Street Bridge over Interstate 405 in Bellevue.
BELLEVUE, WA — Eastside drivers should plan on late-night travel impacts to continue into next week on Interstate 405, where crews are closing lanes each night near Bellevue's Main Street. The closures kicked off Monday with three lanes blocked in both directions near the new Main Street Bridge and full northbound closures were scheduled for overnight Wednesday and Thursday.
Overnight lane reductions on southbound I-405 will continue into Monday morning.
The latest closures will give contractors time to set new girders along the new bridge, which is being replaced as part of a large project to widen the freeway between Renton and Bellevue. The Washington State Department of Transportation demolished the old bridge in June and estimated it could take up to five months to complete construction on the new structure.
