Koelsch Communities Opens $100M Belle Harbour Senior Living Campus

Koelsch Communities, a leading provider of purpose-built senior living communities across independent, assisted and dedicated memory care environments, today announced a July opening for its $100 million Belle Harbour campus in Bellevue, Wash. Home to The Park at Belle Harbour, an assisted living community, and The Inn at Belle Harbour, a dedicated memory care community, Belle Harbour is designed to provide residents a bespoke, personalized living experience with 24-hour access to nursing care and an environment in which to age with dignity.

On Wednesday, June 26, Belle Harbour will host a grand opening for residents, team members and the Bellevue community. Attendees will be able to tour the development, which features 145 suites across both buildings, with the assisted living community containing 73 apartment suites comprised of private studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. The memory care community has 72 suites ranging from private rooms to shared and “neighborhood” options. Upon opening, 160 team members were hired to fill positions across caregiving, culinary, active living, concierge maintenance and housekeeping.

With two communities dedicated to serving different acuity levels, Belle Harbour fosters an environment where residents can age in place. Assisted living residents can range from requiring zero support from team members to potentially needing to move into the memory care community. Regardless of where residents live on campus, a licensed nurse is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week – a health and safety benefit only available at Belle Harbour.

Judy Koelsch, Principal Designer for JSK Design, carefully curated a collection of art and memorabilia representative of the region. Given the name of the community, residents will feel right at home surrounded by a nautical theme woven throughout buildings, not to mention the placement of a massive astrolabe pointing north at the front of the development.

We recognize the role memories from our youth play as we get older, which is why we showcase a 1950s-era MG MGA 1500 Roadster and Ford Thunderbird Convertible, old sports merchandise and other locally-sourced memorabilia within both communities.”

Koelsch Construction and Shearer Construction served as general contractors for the $100M Bellevue development.
