Procession, Celebration Of Life Tuesday For Fallen Bellevue Officer

Neighbors are invited to line the procession route and attend a public celebration of life for officer Jordan Jackson.

BELLEVUE, WA — Community members are invited Tuesday to join the Bellevue Police Department in a celebration of life for Jordan Jackson, a 34-year-old officer who died in a motorcycle crash while on patrol near Bellevue High School on Nov. 21.

A procession is scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m. at 148th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 16th Street, heading north until it arrives at the Meydenbauer Center. Neighbors are welcome to gather along the route:

  • The route begins at 148th Ave SE and SE 16th St., traveling north
  • West on NE 8th St
  • North on 120th Ave NE
  • West on NE 12th St
  • South on 112th Ave NE, arriving at the Meydenbauer Center

The celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. The service is open to anyone who would like to attend, but officials warn parking options will be limited and multiple road closures will be in place in the area. The city recommends attendees consider using rideshare or public transit, with several bus routes available around the Eastside:

  • Wilburton Park and Ride to Bellevue Transit Center: Route 240, Route 246
  • Eastgate Park and Ride to Bellevue Transit Center: Route 240, Route 271
  • South Kirkland Park and Ride to Bellevue Transit Center: Route 249, Route 250
  • Mercer Island Park and Ride to Bellevue Transit Center: Route 550
  • Newport Hills Park and Ride to Bellevue Transit Center: Route 560
  • Overlake Park and Ride to Bellevue Transit Center: B Line

Residents can also view the ceremony on Bellevue Television, which will also be live-streamed by the city of Bellevue. Donations for Jackson's wife and two young children can be made through the Bellevue Police Foundation.

Neighboring agencies will be filling in for Bellevue officers as they mourn. The police department said residents can expect to see officers from Kirkland, Redmond, Clyde Hill, Issaquah and Mercer Island responding to calls between midnight Tuesday and noon Wednesday. Residents with non-emergency issues can also use the city's online reporting tool, where reports are reviewed by supervisors, or contact the non-emergency line at 425-577-5656.
