PSE Awards $800K In WA Solar Grants
Puget Sound Energy grants will help several area organizations install new solar panels to cut down on their operating costs.

BELLEVUE, WA — Puget Sound Energy this week announced more than $750,000 in grants to help nine organizations and tribes fund solar projects in five counties. The latest recipients include non-profit groups like the Bonney Lake Food Bank, Vadis and South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity.
According to PSE, projects funded by the grants will together generate 450,000 kWh, or roughly enough energy to power 43 homes. The solar panels will help the nine organizations cut down on their costs while reducing their carbon footprint.
"Distributing grants for new solar projects to non-profits and tribalities in our electric service area is particularly gratifying," said Mary Kipp, PSE's CEO. "The funding comes from Green Power and Solar Choice participants, who provide a measurable way for us to work together toward a cleaner and more equitable future.":

The grant winners will work with local solar companies, including A&R Solar, Western Solar and South Sound Solar to get new solar panels installed later this year. The next round of grants is due in the summer.
