Once on scene, officers then got into some sort of standoff with the armed robbery suspects, according to SPD. Two of the suspects were taken into custody, and police were tried to round up the third, who was hiding in a shed behind a home in the 3600 block of South Findlay Street. According to police, the suspect fired on police as they approached, and the officers returned fire, hitting and killing him.
"Because multiples agencies were involved in this incident, investigators are still working to confirm which agencies, and how many officers, were involved in the shooting," the department said in a news release.
