Woman Dies From Injuries In Bellevue House Fire
An early morning fire in the Lake Hills area trapped a woman in the basement, according to city officials.
BELLEVUE, WA — A woman died Wednesday morning in Bellevue after she became trapped and fatally injured by a fast-moving basement fire in the Lake Hills area. According to the Bellevue Fire Department, crews arrived at a working fire call on 152ns Place Southeast around 2 a.m.
According to KIRO 7, the woman's husband called 911 to report the fire, and police officers were the first on the scene. However, they could not reach her due to the heat of the fire. Firefighters arrived a short time later and were able to remove the woman from the basement, but officials said she already suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the house.
The Bellevue Police Department will assist the Bellevue Fire Department in investigating the fire's cause, but officials said Wednesday there were no early indications of foul play. The police department also requested assistance help from Seattle ATF investigators.
