Adios Patch, Hola Peru!

If you would have told me this time last year that I would be leaving the country, backpacking through South America and ending up at the top of Machu Picchu, I would have said you were crazy.

But, here I am, ready to go. I am prepared to live out of my backpack for two weeks, waiting to see where the road takes me.

I'm headed to Cuzco, Peru, with three friends. We'll be traveling on the cheap -- staying in hostels, taking buses and eating street food. Needless to say, I will have no Internet, email or cellphone, which means no Patch.

But wait a minute, you say, what about my daily news fix?

In the interim, the fabulous Jenn Chancellor will be your editor here at Bonney Lake-Sumner Patch. She will be in charge from Sept. 4-20. Her email is jennpatchmail@gmail.com and she'll be receiving emails forwarded from my account, too. Jenn is a skilled journalist, formerly  of The Seattle Times, and has been working with Patch since its infancy.

Please let her know if there is something you want to know or read about while I'm gone. Just because I'm on vacation doesn't mean Patch is, too. You can expect a nerdy slideshow of all my favorite memories when I return.
