Bonney Lake "Boo-Teek" Has A Costume for Every Customer
The Bonney Lake Goodwill has a plethora of Halloween costumes to choose from -- the only limit is your imagination.
On a rainy Friday afternoon, Sherrie Sells visited the “Boo-Teek” in hopes of finding the perfect mermaid costume.
She held up a slinky dress, the color of ocean blue with sequins to the floor.
“That’s perfect,” said store manager Veronica Biehner. “Now, have you thought about shoes?”

Whether you want to be a zombie-princess bride or just a plain old witch, Goodwill has the costume for you at a reasonable price. Plus, you can take advantage of a one-on-one consultation with a staff member.
A complete costume, on average, costs $5 to $15.

Most of the Goodwill staff is trained to help customers put costumes together and find the right items for their look. The Bonney Lake location had some good finds – from a Katy Perry-inspired blue wig to a Snow Queen floor-length gown. Some are brand new and still in the original packaging.
Biehner said the most popular costume this year in Bonney Lake is the ‘80s rock star.
The Boo-Teek is not only an affordable way to celebrate Halloween –it’s also benefitting the community. Proceeds from the Boo-Teek help fund Goodwill’s job-training and education programs.
Wearing a lacy pirate hat and sweeping renaissance-style dress, Biehner said she enjoys helping customers at the Boo-Teek -- dressing up in costumes is a serious hobby.
“I love dressing up, I have a big costume collection at home,” she said. “I’ve been bringing in some of my costumes for the other employees to wear, to get them into the spirit.”
Biehner thinks she’ll be an evil fairy this year, but says her son gets the final say – and he hasn’t quite made up his mind yet.
To help customers fully realize their costume dreams, Biehner said she likes to talk them through their concepts and think out of the box for the perfect outfit. She remembered one customer – a young boy who wanted to be a zombie.
“His zombie might not look my zombie,” said Biehner. “He had a picture in his head of what he wanted it to look like. It’s all about getting it to reality.”
You can visit the Boo-Teek in Bonney Lake 12p.m. to 7 p.m. every day leading up to Halloween and get a special consultation on your outfit. Or, just come in when you can – the costume team is happy to help.
