Bonney Lake Man Who Was Stranded on Mt. Rainier Last Year Dies in Car Crash

Derek Tyndall, a snowboarder who was rescued last November, was killed after his car slammed into a tree.

A Bonney Lake man was killed last Friday after his car crashed into a treeΒ in the 4600 block of Sumner Tapps Highway East, according to The News Tribune.

The driver, identified asΒ Derek Tyndall, lost control of his car and drove into a tree around 2 a.m.

The 22-year-old was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident, the TNT reported.

Last November, Tyndall and his friend were trapped on Mt. Rainier while they were snowboarding. They were later rescued with no signs of injury.
