The officer activated his car emergency lights but the car did not yield. It continue to travel down the road and made motions like it would pull over, but kept going until eventually pulling into the Albertson’s parking lot. The officer could not see through the car’s tinted windows and thought the driver was using a common technique of trying to lure an officer out of his vehicle, then fleeing.
The car pulled into a parking spot and backup arrived. The 44 year-old female driver was removed from the car by gunpoint. She was extremely upset and emotional and said that she did not notice the officer was attempting to pull her over. She said she never noticed him behind her and didn’t hear the emergency sirens.

The car was registered to the woman and she had a misdemeanor warrant on her record. Officers cited her with failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and advised to take care of her warrant. She was also advised to contact the DMV to find out why she hadn’t received her permanent license plates.
She complained to the officer that, although she didn’t notice him behind her, he ‘almost killed her.’ She was advised to fill out a complaint form, which she did and submitted to BLPD.

She told police she broke up with him and asked him to move out over a month before, but that he had refused to leave and still wanted to be with her. She said she had been staying with friends to avoid seeing him, but eventually returned home after thinking he had moved out. She was sleeping in her bed when he crawled into bed with her, uninvited. She thought he still had a key to her house and let himself in.
She said he tried to make advances at her, but stopped when she asked him to. She didn’t know what to do, so she called 9-11.
The man was leaving when police arrived and told them he wouldn’t be back, unless it was to pick up the rest of his things. The woman was advised to change her locks immediately and was given information to apply for a restraining order if she wanted one.
