The children were escorted into the building and the officer approached the man, who was trying to blind him with the mirror. As the officer got closer, the man held up his arms as if he had a gun and said to the officer, “come any closer and I’ll shoot you with my gun!” The man didn’t have a gun and the officer detained him.

The man refused to cooperate with police and said, “the aliens are coming for you too, just like the kids.” The man swung at the officer but he ducked and was able to get him in the police vehicle.

It was clear that the man had mental issues and appeared to be a threat to himself and others. He was involuntarily committed to Good Samaritan Hospital. The officer did not press charges for the assault because he felt like the man didn’t know what he was doing.

Hit and Run

A man reported that he was hit while traveling southbound on Myers Road with his three grandsons in the car. A vehicle approached him from behind at a high rate of speed and flashed its headlights at him. He pulled to the shoulder to allow the vehicle to pass but the suspect vehicle also pulled to the shoulder behind him. The man reentered the roadway and the suspect vehicle closed in to his and flashed its headlights again. He came to a stop off Myers Rd. and turned and the vehicle continued to follow him and hit his car in the left rear corner and stopped.

The man got out of his car to confront the suspect vehicle, but the driver backed up and sped away, nearly striking him as he drove past.

The man thought the suspect was a white man in his 20s, driving a mid ‘80s Ford Ranger.

There are no suspects at this time.
