Bonney Lake Police Reports: Teenage Car Prowlers, Stolen Liquor from Wal-Mart, Dog Shot with Gun and More
The following arrest and crime information from June 22 to July 4, 2012 was supplied by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

JUNE 22, 2012
- Officers responded to Allan Yorke Park for a graffiti report. Someone spray-painted βRIP Qβ on several areas around the skate park and snack shack. The graffiti was related to Quentin Boggan, a BLHS student who recently drowned in Lake Tapps. The graffiti cleanup cost the city approximately $250.
- A woman reported that she feared she was the victim of identity theft because she got a letter in the mail from a business in Wisconsin that tried to verify an order for a product under her name.
JUNE 23, 2012
- A man was involuntarily committed to a hospital after he called a crisis line and said he was suicidal and wanted to set his home on fire. He lived with his parents at a residence on 106th St. E. and they were away for the weekend.
- A woman was arrested for shoplifting items from Wal-Mart.

- A man was involuntarily committed to a hospital after his father feared he had overdosed on medication at his home on Angeline Road.
JUNE 26, 2012
- Police and fire crews responded to a suicidal woman at a residence on 191st Ave. E. She appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The woman struggled against being placed in the aid van and bit one of the paramedics. She was involuntarily committed to a nearby hospital.
- Police responded to a Bonney Lake residence on a report of a 15-year-old who attempted suicide. She said she took pills and cut herself because she was depressed over the death of her friend, Quentin Boggan, who drowned in Lake Tapps. She was involuntarily committed to a nearby hospital.
- Police pulled over an unregistered vehicle on SR 410. The driver did not have a license or proof of insurance. A records check showed the manβs license was suspended and he had felony warrants for eight counts of identity theft. He said the car belonged to his mother, who had not yet transferred the title. He was transported to Pierce County Jail for his warrants and cited with failure to transfer the title and driving without insurance.
- A man was arrested after a Starbucks employee watched him punch out the window of his girlfriendβs car in the coffee shop parking lot. He walked across the street and was found outside Jack in the Box. He was drunk. Police searched his person and found a hypodermic needle and some marijuana, along with a pocket knife. Officers contacted his girlfriend, who said he attacked her while she was driving on SR 410. She had asked him to find a pen in the car to write something down and told him to βhurry up,β which enraged him. She pulled the car over in Starbucks and he punched her car window out and walked away. Charges of domestic assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of marijuana were filed against the man.
- Police responded to Bonney Lake High School for a report of theft from a storage shed. Someone cut the fence surrounding a school building and stole an acetylene torch. It was worth approximately $1,000.
- Police served a temporary protection order and hearing notice to a man at a residence on 104th St. Ct. E.

- A woman was arrested for domestic violence assault after she called 9-11 and admitted she punched her husband in the face. She said she was getting ready for work and couldnβt find her car keys and her husband wasnβt helping her find them. She yelled at him and he got in her face and she punched him, and there was a struggle. Officers took photos of the manβs injuries and issued a temporary restraining order against the wife.
- An officer heard a couple pops and on Church Lake Road E. and observed two dogs run by; one was injured by a bullet. Metro Animal Control took custody of the dogs; their owners are unknown. A resident told police he saw the dogs near his barn and shot at them from his deck. The dogs killed some baby chickens in his barn. Police documented what occurred and advised the man to call animal control next time instead of shooting them. The shot dog had to later be euthanized.
- Police arrested a man for driving with a suspended license and a warrant out of Orting. He did not have proper registration for the vehicle and there was a large crack in the windshield.
- A woman reported that a suspect provided false evidence of financial responsibility of her vehicle to the Bonney Lake Municipal Court. The suspect had been cited for driving the vehicle without insurance and provided false documents to the court.
JUNE 28, 2012
- Police found a stolen vehicle parked on the 7200 block of 194th Ave E. The car had been stolen from King County and the case was referred to outside agency detectives.
- An employee of Apple Therapy called police to report a vehicle prowl that happened while she was at work. Several CDs and a car iPod docker were stolen, along with other items.
- Police located an abandoned vehicle on the 11000 block of 182nd Ave. Pl. E. The car was in extremely poor condition and had been abandoned for several months.
JUNE 29, 2012
- A couple was found physically fighting in the middle of the road on 192nd Ave. E. The woman told police she was shooting a Roman Candle and it went off in her face. Her husband attempted to get her in the car to go to the hospital and she refused, saying she wanted to walk. She was disoriented and struggled against her husband. Fire crews transported her from the scene to the hospital and she was cited with discharging a firework illegally.
- A man called police to report he lost his wallet at Fred Meyer. Surveillance footage showed that he dropped it in the garden center and an unknown man picked it up. It later turned out that the man turned the wallet in but no one from the store contacted the man until after the police investigation concluded.
- Police noticed a car on SR 410 with expired registration tabs. The male driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license, driving on expired tabs and driving with an expired trip permit.
JUNE 30, 2012
- Two juvenile men were arrested for breaking and entering into parked, locked cars on 60th St. E. A neighbor called to say they were sitting in a parked car nearby. Police took them into custody and searched their car and found a stolen computer and black bag with burglary tools inside.
- A woman came to the BLPD lobby to report that her husband threatened to kill her and her children. She said he was angry at her for not completing chores around the house. She was advised how to file a restraining order.
JULY 1, 2012
- Police responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment on 75th St. E. Police found a woman arguing with her husband while holding a baseball bat. She said they were fighting because she wanted to go out with her friends but no assault occurred. She left the scene with her three children.
JULY 2, 2012
- A woman reported that her car had been rummaged through while parked in her garage at her home on 121st Ave. E. Her GPS and several coffee shop punch cards were stolen from her car.
- A man reported that he received death threats on his cell phone. He was told by an unknown caller that he only had 7 days to live. Police advised him not to answer blocked calls and report any further threats.
- A woman reported that all four of her vehicles parked outside her residence on 193rd Ave. E. had been rummaged through and had items stolen from them. All four vehicles were unlocked.
- Police arrested a man for driving with a suspended license on SR 410. Police pulled him over because his brake lights were out. He had a warrant out for his arrest and he was arrested on the scene.
JULY 3, 2012
- Two male teens were arrested at Walmart for shoplifting three bottles of liquor. They were stopped at the door by the storeβs loss prevention after employees watched them put the bottles of liquor down the front of their pants.
JULY 4, 2012
- A man was arrested for shoplifting at Wal-Mart after he attempted to steal a six-pack of Mikeβs Hard Lemonade. He ran out the door, tripped over the curb and fell on his face in the parking lot. He was arrested for shoplifting and for a warrant out of Buckley.
- A woman called to report that an unknown person fraudulently charged her credit card for an order of the P90X workout series.
