City Hall Presents β€˜Mr. Sumner’ with Heartwarming Quilt

Sumner resident Barbara Bitetto presented former city councilman Leroy Goff with a hand-stitched quilt, signed by City Hall employees to wish him well in his recovery from heart surgery.

To warm and comfort while he recovers from heart surgery, Sumner volunteer Barbara Bitetto presented him with a handmade quilt, stitched in the style of proud red-white-and-blue Americana and signed by City Hall.

β€œI wanted to do this for Leroy, as a sign of his service to our country and local warriors,” said Bitetto during Monday night's council meeting.

She added that she was inspired by Quilts of Valor, an organization that serves veterans and those touched by war with handmade quilts, made by volunteers across the United States.
