Costco Parking Lot Expansion Approved By Bonney Lake City Council

The council approved the company's expansion application Dec. 12, following a review and public comment period.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - The Bonney Lake City Council this week approved construction of an 82-stall parking lot expansion at the newly opened Costco between Bonney Lake Village and Bonney Lake Marketplace. Any appeals to the decision must be filed with the city's Hearing Examiner by Dec. 27.

The decision to approve Costco's parking lot expansion at 9801 204th Ave. E followed an 18-day review and comment period. Barring any approved appeal of the decision, contractors now have until Dec. 12, 2023, to complete the project before the permit expires. The permit may also expire Dec. 12, 2020, if substantial progress has not yet been made.

As previously reported on Patch, Costco extended 204th Avenue East from South Prairie Road East to SR-410, while the city added a new traffic light on the highway to help ease congestion concerns, during the grocer's initial construction phase.
