Earlier Start Times for Elementary Students in 2013-14 School Year
The Sumner School District announced last week that due to a state mandate to provide 1,000 hours of instruction for elementary school students, start times will be earlier for the upcoming school year.

Information from the Sumner School District
For the 2013-14 school year, there will be an increase in instructional hours for students in kindergarten through 5th grade, to meet the state mandate of 1,000 hours of instruction. This will require a change in the elementary school day, with earlier start times for students.
- All elementary students will begin school 15 minutes earlier each day.
- Breakfast will be served 15 minutes earlier each day.
- The Recreation Department's Before and After School Program hours will not change.
- New bus schedules will be posted on the Web in early July.Β
- Student Day: 8:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.
- Wednesday Late Start: 10 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Β
- Office Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 4 p.m. Β
- Student Day: 9:05 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
- Wednesday Late Start: 10:35 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Β Β
- Office Hours: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Β
